Qubit doesn't allow users to print reports such as file lists. Ideally such a feature would allow for the following,
- Print pages, including search results, to PDF
- Print pages, including search results, to a printer
- Print file lists (e.g. all the files in a series) or item lists (e.g. all the items in a file), issue 412
- Print box lists (e.g. all the files in a box)
- Print lists of physical storage locations (e.g. all the boxes in a fonds)
- Print complete finding aids (all levels of description - the complete contents of a fonds)
- Custom report formats by selecting fields
- Modify search results (e.g. by omitting hits) and print modified set
However, development may start with simple "print page" function, e.g. by creating a print CSS stylesheet, issue 76
General reporting issue, issue 86?
[edit] Search results
- Fields to include: reference code, title, date(s), level of description, part of fonds/series/file, repository, issue 1135
- Repository would be included in multi-repository system only
- The search query, sort order and date of printing would appear in a header
- Here's an example of a printed search results page for a single-repository system,
[edit] File/item lists
- Fields to include: reference code, title, date(s), conditions governing access
- Parent level(s) are included in a header
- Date printed is included in the header as well
- User:Richard Container number would also be useful here; include reference codes of parents in header?
[edit] Box lists
- Fields to include: reference code, title, date(s), part of fonds/series/file, conditions governing access
- Box number and location are included in a header
- Date printed is included in the header as well
[edit] Physical storage locations
- Fields to include: name, location, type
- Title of fonds (or collection, series etc.) is included in a header
- Date printed is included in the header as well
[edit] Complete finding aids
- See example, http://www.sfu.ca/archives2/F-164/FindingAid.pdf
- User:Richard That SFU example structures finding aid into separate tabs for fonds description; series descriptions; file lists; items lists; unprocessed holdings; appendices. We are now wondering about some issues,
- would it be better to put file and item lists with the relevant series description instead of separating them to their own tab?
- where to put fuller item-level description (e.g. a full description of a film)?
